May. 30th, 2014 01:47 am "Pansy! Pansy you have to let me explain!" Draco yelled after the angry brunette who was storming through the common room.
"I don't have to let you do anything!" Pansy Parkinson said not losing a step not even looking back at him. "Clearly, what I think, and how I feel don't matter"
She continued on up the stairs that lead to the girls dormitories. It was the middle of the day everyone was else was in class, roaming the grounds or at Hogsmeade, the few first and second years that remained had surely heard the stories and knew when Pansy Parkinson and Draco Malfoy had it out, that it was best to not be around. She made her way up to where the sixth years were, Draco still trailing her.
When they reached the platform he grabbed her by the wrist spinning her back around to face him. She was quick at pulling out her wand, her expression steely. "Unhand me" She warned him, her wand pressed against his jugular. She knew she was going to pay for that one as he released her holding his hands up. There was no one around but people knew better than to cross a Malfoy, especially when their ego was concerned. It didn't matter who she was to Draco. She knew that. Hell, as of lately she doubted she was anything to him.
"You can't be up here" She said sliding her wand back into her robes as she loosened the tie around her neck. Her cool gaze not breaking from his.
He flashed her that famous Malfoy smirk. "Please" He mocked. "I am a prefect" He said pointing to the small badge pinned to his robes. Pansy rolled her eyes. He continued "I couldn't help but notice a student sneaking off in the middle of the day, it's suspicious, so" He took a step closer to her and tilted his head to the side as he gazed down at her "being the real ambitious person that I am, I thought it wise to investigate" He grinned now placing his hand on her hip.
Normally this was the type of behavior that would have done her in. She would have melted, she would have slammed him against a wall, or done something along those lines. Draco was nearly one of the only people who really saw her, the real her, but this was not one of those times. She slapped away his hand. No. That Malfoy charm wasn't going to work on her, not this time. "You know what looks suspicious" She began not backing away and not stepping down, she held her back straight and stared daggers back at him. "A male student abusing his prefect powers" She said crossing her arms over her chest. "Sneaking up to the girls dormitories," "It's just you up here" He told her looking around. "Exactly, how do I know you aren't here to cause harm to lil ol me" She said pouting out her bottom lip now.
Pansy Parkinson was a lot of things. She was mean as the day was long. She could could count her fingers the amount of people she actually gave a damn about she was anything but helpless. She thought back to when they first started dating, they would constantly go back and forth like this, Draco had really ever been the only person who could match her blow for blow. She had almost missed this.
Then she remembered why they were here. She thought back to this past summer. The way he had avoided her, she wasn't stupid she knew when she was being played. The scene in the courtyard had more than proved her theory. It was one thing for him to run around do Merlin know's what with any slag that looked his way. It was another thing to do it on school grounds. Her blood began to boil as she thought back. Astoria Greengrass. Her hand pushing his hair from his face. Playing with his tie. She looked like a lovesick hippogriff and that wasn't the worst of it. Girls coming onto Draco was nothing new. It didn't happen often, only the brave ones, and it was usually defused by Draco. Not this time. This time he smiled back at her. It was humiliating.
"I know" She finally told him His face turned white and he looked around. The look of terror on his face proved her point. The tiny pit in her stomach felt like a gaping hole. "Y--you know?" He whispered now. "How--who--" Her hand went up, meeting his face a hard slap that she was sure could be heard in the Great Hall. Tears filled her eyes and threatened to fall from her lashes but she wouldn't give him the satisfaction. "That's all you have to say, you're not even going to deny it, tell me I'm mad, you just want to know how?" She practically screamed at him. "It's kind of obvious, I think I've known for a while now but seeing you with her just now proved it" She said slowly backing away from.
He tiled his head to the side, confusion on his face, not that she saw it. She was overcome with rage and something else, something she had never really felt. "Of all the girls in the entire world, why her? She's my best friend's sister. Not to mention she gets around more than madam hooch's spare broomsticks!" She shook her head, a single tear rolling down her cheek. He racked his mind for what this had to do with that. He reached up but his hand was quickly slapped away. "Don't. Touch, Me." She said her voice like ice. "Just tell me one thing before--" "Pansy listen-" She held her hand up silencing him. "--how long have you been sleeping with, Astoria? How long have you been at this? Have there been others?" She wasn't entirely sure she wanted to know. She ran her perfectly manicured hand through her dark hair.
Draco looked at her, partially in disbelief and partially relieved. She didn't know. She only thought he was cheating on her. Had he not been so terrified of her in this state he might of chuckled. "Pansy" He began reaching out to touch her but knowing she would have none of it. Reasoning with her wouldn't work. The relief that he soon felt turned to dread. He had to tell her, or he would lose her for good. That much he knew. Pansy could deal with a lot. Especially from him but he knew that sort of thing, wouldn't be one of them. "I'm not sleeping with anyone" He promised her. The fact that she would think that, to him was a shock in itself. "How could you even think that?"
She looked at him. She always knew that Draco Malfoy was devious, but she never thought she would again see the day that he used that silver tongue on her. "Are you kidding me right now?" She said taking another step back. She had to make it to her room, then she could break down, far away from the prying eyes of Draco Malfoy. "I hardly see you the entire summer, and when I do you are" She sighed "You aren't you, you are distant and a little cold, you dodge my owls, here is a tip if you're going to lie to your girlfriend make sure your mother know's about these lies when she has tea with her friends" She scoffed. "If you wanted out, you need to just say so" She said, her heart breaking. "I'm not your only option I get it, well you aren't mine" She said, Yeah, she thought he wants to play dirty.
"I don't have to let you do anything!" Pansy Parkinson said not losing a step not even looking back at him. "Clearly, what I think, and how I feel don't matter"

Draco didn't like where this was going. The last thing he wanted to think about was Pansy's options. Unsure why his mind instantly went to James. "I have I never, or will I ever want anyone but you. You want the truth? Fine" He took in a deep breath and unbuttoned the cuff of his sleeve and rolled it up. There on his left arm it sat. The Mark. His Mark. The one she was oh so familiar with. Her father had one, as had two of her brothers. She looked at his arms and then back to him and just shook her head. All of her angry and her pain turned to worry. "What have you done?"
